Boeing 377 Stratoliner

Flying above the weather. The Stratoliner was the first airplane which had a pressurized cabin. It reduced due to fly at an altitude of 30.000 ft. the time for a transcontinental flight to 13h40min. It went into service in 1940. Pan Am had only 3 of this aircraft. The most popular was Clipper Rainbow. Most of the stratoliners survived the WW II and were on duty in the Vietnam war. The civil version had only little meaning.
